| New Updates? Wha! | |
| Posted on 3/22/2009 by Rombie | |
| Heya all, updates need to go in here it seems :D It's only been a number of months since anything appeared here. So I've organized some stuff. Firstly, today (22nd) is Biohazard's 13th Birthday. I haven't uploaded any new content for today, but coming sometime in the next few weeks will be a new voice actor I/V, a competition to win one of a few copies of the Resident Evil 5 Collectors Edition guidebook, and a few other surprises. Additionally I'll be updating the affiliates listing and adding in some new ones. If you are wanting to apply for an affiliate position please e-mail me at rombienz at hotmail.com as my ResidentEvilFan.com address is currently playing up. Please put "Affiliate Request" in the title. Stay tuned for more! Oh, finally... our friends over at The Horror Is Alive have once again invited me along to take part in their RPD Dispatch Podcast, this time covering RE5. I join in around the time of RE5 discussion as I was late arriving for the record. It can be found right here. Clocking in at around 3 hours, its a lot to listen to. But timecodes of particular sections are noted in the link above. Clearly it has spoilers, so don't listen if you haven't finished, but do check it out as we cover just about every aspect including what we expect/want to see in the next major title. |

| More Voice Actor Updates | |
| Posted on 1/26/2008 by Rombie | |
More updates to the Voice Actors section this week - this time with the Resident Evil Zero section.I've updated the list for Richard Waugh and Marcia Brackett, and added four additional actors - Cyrus Lane, Lyon Smith, Natasha Martina, and the gorgeous Riva Di Paola (pictured right) who provided us with the voice of Rebecca Chambers in Zero. I've also removed Hope Levy (she's the Remake Rebecca only) at this time as clearly she didn't work on the title. As usual you can check out the voice actors section by clicking here. Thanks to everyone who e-mailed me regarding the retrospective last week. I'm sorry I was unable to reply to you all. I had planned on doing the same for Resident Evil 2 in the coming weeks, but apparently it's not bug free on the PS3 so I'm going to have to pull out the PSOne to play it again. Additionally, while I did state I was planning new weekly updates, I'm actually going to be away for three weeks from sometime this week coming and won't have a computer till I return... but I will be back to the regular updates after then. Until next time. |

| Resident Evil Retrospective | |
| Posted on 1/18/2008 by Rombie | |
I had hoped for something more substantial this week however I've been fairly sick this week and haven't had a lot of energy to put into working on the site. What it did give me the chance to do however was sit on my backside and replay the original Resident Evil on PlayStation for the first time in over six years, and have written up a feature covering this replay which you will find right here. |

| New Voice Actor I/V & Voice Actor Updates | |
| Posted on 1/12/2008 by Rombie | |
Sorry this update is a few days late, but I delayed it so that I could place some new interviews on the site!Firstly, I've added a section to the voice actors page for Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. There are currently five actors in there, of which two of them we've currently got exclusive interviews with! Firstly we have an interview with Tara Platt. Tara voices The Red Queen supercomputer in The Umbrella Chronicles - a role almost as central to the title as Wesker's. The second interview is with Patrick Seitz. Patrick is the voice behind the latest Umbrella bad guy to the series, Sergei Vladimir. Both of these interviews can be found in our voice actor interviews area along with our previous interviews with Paul "Leon" Haddad, Joe "Chris" Whyte, Hope "Rebecca" Levy, and Carolyn "Ashley" Lawrence. The next few weeks will bring more voice acting section updates, as I update and include new actors to the other games in the series. Keep an eye out too, because who knows - more actor interviews might be on the way as well. |

| Release Section Updated | |
| Posted on 1/3/2008 by Rombie | |
In what should become a trend, weekly updates around the site have begun. Some will be small, others larger. This week, for the first update around the site long overdue, I've updated our very out of date release list to include all of the titles up until Biohazard / Resident Evil 5. You'll find links to the right side for the most recent items from the past several months, including the entire series release list from 1996 until now. You can also find that section at this link as well. Enjoy. |

| Cosplay Catch-Up | |
| Posted on 10/24/2006 by Roody | |
| I've had a rather large pile of cosplay submissions in my inbox for the past few months. Today, I finally got to posting them. Many thanks to those who submitted not only for your submissions, but for your patience with me as well. I let those get backed up way too long, and for that I apologize.
Check out the cosplay section to see the latest submissions. Enjoy! |

| Another Week, Another Mercenaries Video | |
| Posted on 6/9/2006 by Roody | |
| This week we've got another video of the Mercenaries game in Resident Evil 4. This time, it's the Waterworld scenario, which we all know is the hardest, and it shows off how to get a five star rating. It's about a 12 minute video, so be patient as it loads. You can find it here.
Once again, thanks to M93R for creating and sending us another great video. Also, while I'm here, I thought I'd share a fun link that forum member Kennedy shared with us. It's a Resident Evil-based YTMND page called the "Merchant Mix". When I saw it, it gave me a good laugh. Check it out here. |
|
| Leon - Mercenaries Castle | |
| Posted on 6/4/2006 by Roody | |
| Continuing the series, forum member M93R sent in his latest video capture. This time it's video showing how to get a five star rating in the RE 4 Mercenaries game, playing the castle scenario, as Leon.
It's another long video, totaling almost 12 minutes, so be patient as it loads. You can view it by clicking here. Hopefully, he'll be kind enough to send more in the coming weeks ;) |
|
| Leon - Mercenaries Walkthrough | |
| Posted on 5/30/2006 by Roody | |
| Another week, another video. This time our good friend M93R sent in a video he made detailing how to get over 100,000 points in the Mercenaries game, as Leon, and in the Village scenario. It's about a ten minute video, and may take a few minutes to fully download, so be patient for this one.
You can check that out here. Also, I posted up about 7 or 8 new Caption This pics, so have at 'em. |
|
| Tofu vs. Nemesis Video | |
| Posted on 5/20/2006 by Roody | |
| Forum member Guardian sent in a video recently. It shows everyone's favorite block of soy in an "epic" battle with the giant mutation known as Nemesis. It's rather humorous to watch Nemesis throw a block of bean curd around. Anyways, you can check that out by clicking here. | |
| Cosplayers Wanted | |
| Posted on 2/20/2006 by Roody | |
At the moment, it's rather bare, with only a few images that were recently sent in to me. However, this is where you folks come in. If you've got some Resident Evil cosplay you'd like to share, please send them in so we can grow our gallery. Instructions on how to send them can be found on the section page. Please send Resident Evil cosplay only. Cosplay of anything other than Resident Evil will not be accepted. Hopefully with your help, we can grow this into the best Resident Evil cosplay resource on the net. |

| New Caption This Feature | |
| Posted on 2/10/2006 by Roody | |
| Recently, one of our forums members suggested that it would be nice if they could access their posted captions to see what scores they got on them without having to sort through page after page. Well, I'm pleased to announce that I didn't add this feature. Well, sort of.
New to Caption This is the ability for you to view your own personal "top 25" captions, as well as the top 25 of any other member. Simply login to Caption This and click on the "My Profile" link at the top. In there you will see a link for your top 25 captions. To view someone else's top 25, simply click on their name to view their Whois Profile. One final note. While I was in there adding this feature, I also put in a few new images to post on. Enjoy! |

| Resident Evil - Fan Movie | |
| Posted on 1/28/2006 by Roody | |
Well, long time no update eh? It's been a while I have to admit. But hopefully we'll change all that in the coming months. And to start the cycle of change, we just received a pretty cool video to add to the site.
Mike "Ockman" Paprocki over at Gang Entertainment sent in this fan video which is a really cool remake of the original opening of Resident Evil 1. It even includes deliberate bad acting. A job well done on their parts. Also, if you have some time after watching the video, make sure to drop by their site and show 'em a little love. On a side note, keep an eye on Caption This! in the next few days, as I have some more updates for that. Enjoy! |

| Chatting With The First Daughter - Carolyn Lawrence | |
| Posted on 4/26/2005 by Roody | |
In our latest interview, we were lucky to sit down with the voice actress for Ashley Graham in Resident Evil 4, Carolyn Lawrence. We discussed questions ranging from her work with SpongeBob to what she thought about Leon trying to look up Ashley's dress. She was a pleasure to talk to, and very charming as well. Check out the interview in our aptly-named Interviews Section. |

| New Affiliates | |
| Posted on 4/6/2005 by Rombie | |
| After and overwhelming responce to our requests for Affiliation, we've added several new sites to our affilates list. These sites are (in Alphabetical order): Aussie Nintendo, Biohazard Briefings, Biohazard HQ, Evil Factory Network, Evil Unleashed, Resident Evil Network, and Survivors Guide Network. You've got a whole new set of sites to go check out if you've never seen them before, so get moving. |

| Affiliation Requests | |
| Posted on 3/13/2005 by Rombie | |
It's a new year, and so I've decided to take it upon myself to organize and update our current list of affiliates for Resident Evil Fan. We haven't taken on links for anyone new for some time, but have decided it's time to open the gates of brother (and sisterly) love and partner up with some more of the sites out there. In any case, what that means is that we're currently asking for anyone who has a site that they'd like to affiliate with us, that they send me (Rombie) an e-mail with information about their site. I'd like the sites name, URL, webmaster information, contact details (e-mails, messanger info such as MSN, ICQ, AIM), and a small paragraph about the site to be included in the e-mail. This information has to be sent to me, and me only, from the "contact us" page's list right here. Any requests sent to other staff members will be ignored as I'm the only one organizing this. I look forward to seeing some of the new sites out there. |

| An Interview With Rebecca Chambers - Hope Levy | |
| Posted on 2/27/2005 by Rombie | |
Yes, it's finally time for another one of our interviews with the actors who provide the voices for the series, this time with the lovely Hope Levy - voice of Rebecca Chambers in the Remake of Resident Evil. Hope is a multi-talented actor/voice artist/singer/comedian who's done a huge variety of work. You'll find the interview with her in our interviews section where she answers a number of questions both from us as well as the fan base. Check it out. Along side this, some minor updates and additions have also been made to the voice actors section here at REFANB - which you can find here. |

| Mercenaries Special Moves | |
| Posted on 1/28/2005 by Roody | |
If you've played your way through Resident Evil 4, you've no doubt seen and played the Mercenaries extra game that unlocks upon beating it. Personally, of the two extra games, The Mercenaries is my favorite. But the chainsaw guy in the 4th stage really ticks me off.
Anyways, Hellraiser made up this video for us which shows off each of the characters' finishing moves in the game. Even if you haven't been able to play The Mercenaries yet, it's still worth a look to give you an idea of some of the cool things to come. |

| A Walkthrough, A Review, and Some Captions | |
| Posted on 1/23/2005 by Roody | |
| Several reviews of Resident Evil 4 have popped up all around the internet. I figured it was time to get our take on the game done, so I've written up my thoughts on Resident Evil 4. I wanted to make sure that I finished the game so I could give it an honest review.
Also, Alex Eagleson has given us permission to use his walkthrough for Resident Evil 4. So if you're having trouble finding your way, check that out here. Last, but not least, I made some long overdue updates to Caption This! with some Resident Evil 4 images. Be sure to check that out as well. More RE 4 updates to come soon! |

| RE 4 Action Replay Codes | |
| Posted on 1/14/2005 by Roody | |
Code Junkies recently updated their website with new cheat codes for Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube. If you find you're having trouble with the game, or are too lazy to do the work, I've put a copy of these codes in our Resident Evil 4 section. They can be found here. Enjoy! |
|
| Making of Resident Evil 4 | |
| Posted on 1/9/2005 by Roody | |
With the release of Resident Evil 4 just days away, Capcom has put out a video with interviews and insight on the making of the highly-anticipated game. They attempt to explain their decision on why they decided to remove zombies from the game, and other various development quirks. Special thanks to XFactor and the Resident Evil Network for hooking us up.
Also, a couple more site updates that we've made today that I think are worth mentioning: I've added a new survey to the surveys section which asks for some of your opinions on Resident Evil 4. Also, Rombie got together some more additions to the voice actors section. Update by Rombie: We've recieved a few e-mails asking if the making of has spoilers in it, which I can say it doesn't have anything major. It can be watched as an introduction to the game if you've been watching the trailers up until now, however I wouldn't watch it if you don't know anything about the game yet. On the topic of spoilers, we've also been recieving some e-mails from people about parts of Resident Evil 4 explained in the early released strategy guide and from those who've recieved the game a couple of days early. While we apperciate the information, we don't also want the game spoiled for ourselves until we've had the chance to play. We'll note as much on the main page on when we're open to taking e-mails on the game. |

| Long Overdue | |
| Posted on 1/4/2005 by Roody | |
I know this is long overdue, but I've finally managed to get a first version of a Resident Evil Apocalypse movie section up for the site. The movies section now contains a splash page where you can select which movie section you want to visit. You can find that here.
More to come soon. Stay tuned! |

| Christmas Desktop | |
| Posted on 12/18/2004 by Roody | |
REFANB Forums visitor MuttonChops recently created a pretty cool Resident Evil wallpaper for the Christmas Season. It depicts Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine in her holiday apparel. I thought it was worthy of sharing with everyone who visits the site, even if you're not a member of the forums. You can download your copy from the links below:
Have a safe and happy holiday from everyone at Resident Evil Fan: A New Blood. UPDATE: The media server seems to be down and I'm not sure when it will return. So some of the images and media on the site will not work. Please bear with us while it is fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

| New Apocalypse Screens | |
| Posted on 8/8/2004 by Roody | |
Long time no update eh? Hopefully when summer comes to a close I will have more time to update. Until then, some new screens have popped up for the upcoming Resident Evil Apocalypse movie which are worth a look. One of them even shows the backside of Nemesis, which looks, rather... well I'll let you decide. The pics begin in the gallery on this page.
Special thanks to Rammy for sending us those pics. |
|
| Apocalypse Clip From MTV | |
| Posted on 6/13/2004 by Roody | |
In case you missed it, MTV recently aired a preview clip of the upcoming Resident Evil Apocalypse movie. It shows Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) regaining consciousness while inside a research facility. Some have suggested this is the ending of the film, while others suggest it may be the beginning of it. We won't know for sure until they release the movie, but until then check it out here.
Thanks to site visitor Rich Martell for the heads up. |

| Outbreak Gameshark Codes | |
| Posted on 5/17/2004 by Roody | |
For those of you who either don't have the time or desire to work through the game, the Gameshark can help you. The codes for unlocking everything from infinite health to the entire collection of special items can be found by going to our Outbreak Gameshark Codes section. Thanks to Jeremy H for sending those in.
More updates to come soon. |

| Outbreak Costumes | |
| Posted on 4/25/2004 by Roody | |
If you're like me and you've been playing Outbreak, you've probably noticed that other players have been using some of the special outfits for the main characters. Some may be left wondering "how do I unlock that?". Well look no further than our Outbreak Alternate Costumes section. From Kevin's cowboy outfit to Cindy's bunny outfit, we have pictures as well as instructions on how to obtain each. Enjoy. |

| Brad "Stands Up" To Nemesis | |
| Posted on 4/19/2004 by Roody | |
Site visitor Mark Churchill, recently sent in a video that he made showing a nifty little glitch in the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 3. It shows the scene right after Brad Vickers encounters the Nemesis and is killed. However, it seems that something has breathed new life into Brad as he appears to be standing up. Perhaps he couldn't stand the idea of Nemesis attacking poor, defense-less Jill? Who knows. Whatever his reasons, check the video out here.

| More Outbreak Event Impressions + Photos (Updated) | |
| Posted on 4/10/2004 by Rombie | |
With a big thanks to Mike Stevens, I've been able to add a new larger set of impressions as well as photos of the Outbreak event held at the Meteron in San Fran at the start of the month. Not only has he provided these images and a great write-up, but also some short videos which show some of the action. Everything added so far has been has a home on the promo section page, right here. Check it out.
UPDATE: At the request of many, and better late than never, we are proud to add a section for Resident Evil 4 on the site. You can access it from the side navigation. It will continue to grow and have information added to it over time. |
|
| Release Dates | |
| Posted on 2/19/2004 by Roody | |
As you can probably see, we've added a new console on the right side of the homepage here. It's a new information section on release dates for upcoming and most recent Resident Evil games. Now you can get quick access to this information and know when a particular title will be released in your area. Clicking on the title will bring up more information on that game as it relates to its release.
Also, if you happen to be sitting around wondering (as we all are) just what was the exact date that Resident Evil 1 was released, well look no further than our Release Dates page. Rombie gathered up heaps of info on every Resident Evil title ever released in every location that it was ever released in. Information from the consoles they were released on, all the way to each of the box shots can be found in there. Be sure to check it out. |

| BHX Umbrella Corporation | |
| Posted on 2/7/2004 by Roody | |
Many of you may remember Biohazard Extreme when it was online up until last year. If you were a regular visitor to their site you will also remember the great flash website called "Umbrella Corp" that they put together detailing the first Resident Evil Movie. Biohazard Extreme is no longer with us, but Umbrella Corp makes a return appearance here at Resident Evil Fan: A New Blood.
Umbrella Corp. originally opened on Biohazard Extreme back in 2002 and was the combined effort of Rammy, Biohazard Extreme's webmaster, and Rombie. The site covered various parts of the Resident Evil movie in a flash based package, which had heaps of information and downloads as well as many hidden extras and special items. With the decision to put the Umbrella Corp site back online Rammy has also inserted a few new extra secrets for you to discover. Click here to check out Umbrella Corp. You will be able to find a permanent link to it in our Resident Evil Movie section. Big thanks to Rammy for allowing us to host this great piece of work. |

| Resident Evil Encyclopedia & Media Updates | |
| Posted on 1/29/2004 by Rombie | |
Introducing the Resident Evil Encyclopedia, the latest feature here at Resident Evil Fan: A New Blood. Both Roody and myself have been working on this on and off for a while, and are glad to have it online for you to browse. It's mostly complete, we're currently still going through adding releated links to items, but the majority of items are in and ready for you to search. You'll always be able to access it through the above address, or use the search box up in the top right.Aside from the massive inclusion of the Encyclopedia, we've added a new feature covering the trailers and commercials for the series, and added a huge number of new videos to the multimedia section. You can see the article and the number of new videos by pointing your browser right here. We hope you enjoy these major updates and would be happy to recieve feedback in our forums and guestbook. Expect more from us soon. |

| Three Page Outbreak Review | |
| Posted on 1/15/2004 by Rombie | |
Site Updates have been slow around here thanks to a number of issues, however thanks to Namcodude we are able to post a three page indepth Outbreak review for you to enjoy. You'll find it here or through the Outbreak section on the site. There are more updates on their way in the coming weeks and months including new media and information sections, so stay tuned. |

| Holiday Vacation | |
| Posted on 12/21/2003 by Roody | |
Just wanted to take some time to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season this year. This will probably be the last update you see on the site for the year 2003, as Rombie and I are taking a holiday break.
Anyways, Reservoir Dog sent in a couple cool new wallpapers that he found on the Capcom website. You can check those out in the Miscellaneous section. The only other thing I have for ya at this time, is a few new additions to the Resident Evil Apocalypse Image Gallery. From all the staff at Resident Evil Fan, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :) |
|
| Files Are Back | |
| Posted on 12/9/2003 by Roody | |
| As you probably can already tell, our file host has regained hostability and all of our videos and files are back online and should work as normal. Thank you for your patience as they worked through the issues.
Resident Evil news is still a little slow. Hope to have some more updates soon :) |
|
| Server Problems | |
| Posted on 12/5/2003 by Roody | |
| Just a quick note to let you all know that our file host is having some sort of problem with the server today and is experiencing some extended downtime. That means the videos and some of the images on the site will be unavailable until further notice. I did however point the Caption This images back to our own server for the time being, so those will no longer be affected. Hopefully the issue will be resolved shortly.
I apologize for the inconvenience. |
|
| Large CT Update | |
| Posted on 11/30/2003 by Roody | |
Since updates are few and far as of late, I went hunting for some new Resident Evil related material. What I came up with were a few new screens from the upcoming Resident Evil Outbreak. They may not be all that new, but I've never seen them myself before. Anyways, they make for 10 great new Caption This! images to post on.
Hopefully Resident Evil news will pick up soon. Until next time enjoy the images. |

| Pink Herbs For All | |
| Posted on 11/16/2003 by Roody | |
Resident Evil junkies are well familiar with the healing powers of the green, red, and blue herbs, but what does the rare pink herb do? Well we don't know either, but the pink herb is one of many items that were in the beta version of Resident Evil Ø. Hellraiser, with the aid of Action Replay codes put together screen shots of all the items. You can check those out here.
Also, I put together another new survey which asks for your ideas/thoughts on the upcoming Resident Evil Outbreak game. |
|
| Gallery Updates | |
| Posted on 11/14/2003 by Roody | |
Just a minor update to talk about this time. I added some more screens from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Outbreak to the image gallery. You can find those by clicking these links:
Resident Evil 4 Gallery Also, there is a Caption This update, so be sure to check that out. |

| Floating Hunkiness | |
| Posted on 11/2/2003 by Roody | |
While putting together the full Hunk walkthrough video, our man Hellraiser discovered a neat little glitch in the 4th Survivor game. Turns out, Hunks indeed have flying powers. Kinda neat if you're looking for a trip back down memory lane.
Speaking of the Hunk Walkthrough, you can find that by clicking here. Big thanks to Hellraiser for stepping up to the plate and creating that video. Enjoy! |

| Leon's Diary | |
| Posted on 10/28/2003 by Roody | |
If you're looking for a story to fill in the gaps of Leon's path between Resident Evil 2 to Resident Evil 4, you are in luck. Taken from a recent Gamecube magazine (Update: That magazine was Cube Magazine - England) are three pages from Leon's diary. They give some explanation in Leon's own words as to how he got from the train in Raccoon City to being infected with the Progenitor virus at the beginning of the upcoming Resident Evil 4. A pretty cool read. Anyways, the scans were sent in by Myles1300, so a big thanks goes out to him:
More Update: Our very own Mr_Ash and Jill_V took a trip recently up to Canada, and got up close to the production area for Resident Evil Apocalypse. You can check out some of their pics by clicking here. Big thanks to them for sharing those with us :) |
|
| Plethora of Minor Updates | |
| Posted on 10/26/2003 by Roody | |
Few things to report on for this update. First of all, I started the Resident Evil: Apocalypse image gallery section. Got a few pictures in there, and more will come over time. Check that out here.
Next, I had gotten a few emails from visitors saying that some of the videos were working, and some weren't. I think we have resolved the problem and things should be good from here on out. Also, I cleaned up the Multimedia page so that the videos are organized by category. This should make the videos a little easier to find. :) Speaking of videos, I added the latest Resident Evil Outbreak gameplay footage that was found on Capcom's site. Check out the latest multimedia for that. Also, Hellraiser sent in an updated version of his Resident Evil music video, Kryptonite. It is now larger and is of much better quality. You can check that out here. Finally, for videos I put in a much clearer and sharper version of the Resident Evil 4 preview video that was shown at E3. Last but not least, Hellraiser tells me he may have something pretty cool for the site shortly. So stay tuned for that. :) |
|
| Multimedia is Back | |
| Posted on 10/15/2003 by Roody | |
I am happy to report that the videos and the image gallery have returned as promised. I am also happy to report that we have partnered with Otaku's Most Wanted, and they will be providing some of the file hosting that makes the videos possible once again. So if you really wanna thank 'em, drop by their site and check out the great deals on import games.
Next, I'd like to put out a request to all you Resident Evil nuts. If any of you have a complete video of the Hunk game from Resident Evil 2, we'd love to get our hands on a copy. I myself have never even seen the Hunk game, with the exception of some screen shots. If you send one in and we put it on the site, you will receive full credit for it. Please only send it if it is yours to send. In other words, don't yank one from another site and then claim it's yours. Oh and please don't write me with questions about how to capture the video, as I will not reply to those emails. Thanks! |
|
| Forums and/or Caption This Update | |
| Posted on 10/8/2003 by Roody | |
| UPDATE: Seeing as we are receiving a lot of emails about the videos not working, I figured it best to mention again that the videos on the site are all down until we get a new file and image host in place.
Recently (today to be exact) I received several emails from people who were having trouble getting the activation email for the forums, or the lost password request for Caption This. The reason that you did not receive the email is because our mail server was down for the past few days. The email server is back up now, and if you were one of the many who had problems, simply re-request the emails. Everything should be working as intended now. Once again I apologize for the inconvenience. |
|
| Status Update | |
| Posted on 10/5/2003 by Roody | |
| Now that we've finished with some upgrades, things should run a little smoother. Just to update you on what is going on, we are currently in talks with a file and image host to help with some of the bandiwdth issues. I think we have a verbal agreement and should have something hammered out in the next few days hopefully. Until then the videos will be unavailable, but they will return. We apologize for the inconvenience, so please bear with us. More updates as they come :) | |
| Not Dead After All | |
| Posted on 9/23/2003 by Roody | |
UPDATE 9/24: All videos on the site will be temporarily disabled until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Remember us? After a 3 month vacation, err I mean 3 months of down time we are back. Just like the first time you saw a crimson head, thinking it was dead and later comes back even more powerful. Anyways, as you can tell we have new hosting, and even better news is that we will still remain ad-free. All in all we are very happy to be back in the Resident Evil online community. For the most part, the only major thing we have new at the moment is the Resident Evil Apocalypse teaser trailer which is being shown in theaters in previews before Underworld. Big thanks to Pure Evil over at Rotten Flesh for the assist on that one. With that said, make sure to check back a lot over the next few days as we'll be playing catch-up on the past 3 months of Resident Evil related news. We also plan on continuing on our work on the project that got put on hold while we were away. For now, get re-acquainted with the forums or check out some of the new pics in Caption This!. |

| Chatting With Chris Redfield - Joe Whyte | |
| Posted on 6/7/2003 by Rombie | |
In the second of our voice actor interviews, we've been given the privilege to talk to Joe Whyte. You'll know Joe, or at least his voice, as Chris Redfield and Richard Aiken in the Resident Evil Remake. But did you know it's also Joe's voice that you hear saying "Resident Evil" when you start the game? No? Well learn about this and more by checking out the interview with him in the interviews section. A big thanks goes out to Joe for taking the time out to chat about himself, along with Ted Boyke and Graham Parker for their help with this interview. |

| Resident Evil 4 E3 Direct Feed Video | |
| Posted on 5/28/2003 by Rombie | |
As far as I know, we're the first place to have the direct feed edition of this video online, so you'll definitely want to check this out. You can watch the clear version of the Resident Evil 4 video right here, or underneath the latest multimedia listing to the lower right. Enjoy. Edit (29/5) - Seems IGN caught on to the source of the video today after we posted this streaming edition. If you're looking for a copy to download, check out CubeIGN. Edit (31/5) - I've been passed along this link from Wesker at Biohazard France which contains a large 720X576 edition of the video for download, at 24MB. Check it out if you haven't yet downloaded the video, and browse some text and pictures of the E3 event. |

| Section Updates | |
| Posted on 5/20/2003 by Rombie | |
| More sections continue to come from New Blood to the new site, including the completed Resident Evil Gaiden and change over and update of the Resident Evil Online section to Resident Evil Outbreak after E3.
After which, we've also added several new pieces of media to watch from the E3. You can find the links to these to the right under the latest multimedia listing. Finally, if you missed the previous update with HellRaiser's images and video from the E3 Show then please check out right here. |

| Capcom Booth at E3 | |
| Posted on 5/17/2003 by Roody | |
Our "roving reporter", Hellraiser took a trip out to Los Angeles this past week, and dropped by the E3 Expo. As promised, he came back with some pics and video of the Capcom Booth. So, if you weren't lucky enough to get to E3, you can check out it out here. |
|
| RE 4 At E3 | |
| Posted on 5/13/2003 by Roody | |
E3 2003 has begun, and Resident Evil 4 was there in full preview force. Capcom decided to show us a little preview of what's to come, and it looks great. Credit for this video goes to IGN.com and also to Dark S.T.A.R.S. for giving me the heads up.
Unlike the rest of the videos on this site, you will need Windows Media Player 9 to view this video. This will be the standard for all future videos from now on. If the video doesn't work properly, upgrade your media player. Click here to get Windows Media Player 9 |

| Interview With Leon S. Kennedy | |
| Posted on 5/4/2003 by Roody | |
Paul Haddad, the voice behind RPD rookie cop Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil 2 was kind enough to take a few minutes out of his day to chat with us recently. It was pretty cool to get to hear a little about how the recording process is done for a Resident Evil game. Anyways, to read the interview, check out our newly added interviews section. Hopefully this is the first of many interviews to come.
I'd like to thank Paul for doing the interview as well as Rombie for coming up with most of the questions. |
|
| Content Updates | |
| Posted on 5/2/2003 by Rombie | |
| Roody and myself have begun on moving the content from New Blood to here, and have begun by starting with the Dead Aim and Gun Survivor 2 sections of the site. More basic info will be added to some of the existing sections soon, and more games sections will be added as well. Stay tuned. | |
| Ideal Cast: Final Results | |
| Posted on 4/25/2003 by Roody | |
| Well, 7½ months after we began, the Ideal Cast Tournament has come to a close. The results can be found by clicking here. I would like to take the time to thank everyone that voted. I think, overall the tournament was a big hit.
I also want to take a quick moment to let everyone know that the merger is progressing along nicely. A lot of things are taking place behind the scenes, but eventually you'll start to see an increase in the pace of things that take place on the front lines. Stay tuned. |
|
| Resident Evil Fan: A New Blood? | |
| Posted on 4/20/2003 by Rombie | |
| Yes, as you may have noticed the branding for the site has changed, and now includes both site titles as one. You may still call this place Resident Evil Fan or you may call it New Blood, either way it's the same site now.
I take no credit at all in the originality of the name, it was all Roody's choice. For me it hasn't be such a large change as New Blood's full title was exactly the same, just minus the Fan in it somewhere :) Feel free to join in the discussion of the merger, located in the forums. Finally, the news archive is growing as I slowly add everything from the past 4 years at New Blood to the archive content of REFan's last 2 years. Some of the links and info are broken or out of date, but there might be some important bits you never knew about in there somewhere. |

| Return of the Living Dead | |

| Finally, an update related to the closing of the site. It's another long one, so click here to read. | |
| All Good Things Must Come To An End... | |

I have an announcement. It's a bit long for the main page, so you can find it here. :) |

| March Madness? | |
| Posted on 3/26/2003 by Roody | |
| Back On September 12th, 2002 we began the Ideal Cast Tournament. Over 6 months later, we have now reached crunch time. Today begins the finals for each of the characters, as you have selected them. Each Matchup will run for 2 days. So make sure to get over and vote. | |
| Interviews With The Webmaster | |
| Posted on 3/21/2003 by Roody | |
| Since I've been lacking in some updates (and time to do those updates) as of late, I thought I'd take a moment to point out a couple interviews that I have done recently for other websites. Firstly, Nintendojo.com has put together a really cool special section on Resident Evil. In that section you can also find an interview that I did for them a few weeks ago. Nintendojo is a pretty popular Nintendo fan site, and is definitely worth a look.
I also did this month's "Site of The Moment" interview over at Resident Evil Sitez. Fellow affiliate and friend Rob McGreggor was kind enough to ask me my thoughts on Resident Evil-related things. To check that interview out, click on the "S.O.T.M." link at the top of RE Sitez. |

| Rebecca And The Rapid Bazooka | |
| Posted on 3/11/2003 by Roody | |
Hellraiser went out the other day and got himself a copy of the new Action Replay cheat device for Gamecube. It allows you to do some pretty cool things in Resident Evil Ø and the Remake. One of those things is getting a rapid-fire bazooka, as demoed here in this video. Rebecca just isn't the same sweet, innocent girl after you've seen her roast zombies in this fashion. :) |

| Super Mega Colossal CT! Update | |
| Posted on 3/6/2003 by Roody | |
In probably the largest single Caption This! update in the site's history, we have 15 new eligible image candidates for you to post captions on. Big thanks to Lee who sent in the majority of the images in use for the current update.
Also if you haven't already, don't forget to vote in the current Rate your interest survey. So far it seems most of you are interested in a new fan cosplay section. Keep the votes coming. |

| Rate Your Interest | |
| Posted on 3/3/2003 by Roody | |
Also, Jill V sent in a great Barry Burton wallpaper to add to the other ones she already made for us. Check em out and download em here. |
|
| Still Here... | |
| Posted on 2/25/2003 by Roody | |
Bet you didn't think so because of lack of updates lately? Updates have been hard to come by, with Capcom keeping rather quiet at the moment regarding Resident Evil 4. But forum member leon2ky sent in a boatload of RE 1, RE 2, and RE 3 screens to help fill out the image gallery. Click the links to check them out.
Hellraiser was kind enough to drop me a reminder that the Action Replay for Gamecube is finally due out tomorrow (26th). Hopefully it's for real this time so cheaters get ready. Finally, any update isn't complete without the usual Caption This! update. Till next time. |
|
| Two-Dimensional Valentine | |
| Posted on 2/16/2003 by Roody | |
As many of you know, the "Queen of RE" Jill Valentine has appeared in many games. What some of you may not know is she also had a role in the game "Marvel vs Capcom 2". Hellraiser took some time to put together a little demonstration on Jill's array of various moves and weapons from the game in this video. If you've never seen the game before, it's a whole new view of Jill.
Also, many of you have been asking for this for quite some time. Joseph Blanchette (aka "Legendary Frog") was kind enough to send us a copy of his latest Resident Evil flash movie entitled "I am Resident Evil". Many of you have probably seen this already, but if you haven't it's new to you. Click here to check it out. |
|
| Time For a New Survey | |
| Posted on 2/10/2003 by Roody | |
Since news and updates are slow to come by in the Resident Evil world, thought maybe now would be a good time to start a new survey. This survey asks for your general opinion on which RE games rank the best in certain categories.
Of course any update wouldn't be complete without a few new Caption This! pics. Special thanks to Jill V for sending those in. |
|
| 30 Gun Survivor 4 Screens | |
| Posted on 1/31/2003 by Roody | |
Got a few new screens from the upcoming Gun Survivor 4 game to check out. They've been around for a little while on Capcom's Official Gun Survivor 4 site, but I just got around to getting them up now. Anyways, check them out here.
Other than that, nothing else to report at this time. Got some ideas brewin', but that's all I'm gonna say for now. Until next time. |
|
| Final Four | |
| Posted on 1/27/2003 by Roody | |
Just a reminder to get over and vote in the Ideal Cast Tournament. It's final four week for Jill, Chris, Claire, Barry and Rebecca so the voting starts to get serious now. Make sure to get your vote in each day.
On other site update notes, not a lot else to report at the moment. Will have something soon. Stay tuned. |

| Voice Acting With Captions | |
| Posted on 1/20/2003 by Roody | |
Since the topic of the good and bad voice acting is always on the minds' of Resident Evil fans, we figured it was appropriate to create a little section on the website dedicated to the men and women behind it. New to RE Fan is a section on some of the Resident Evil voice actors. It's a work in progress, and more actors and actresses will be added over time as I can find the information on them. Big thanks to Resident Evil Fan staffer Hellraiser for helping to create that section.
Also, posted 10 new Caption This! pictures for your enjoyment. Go there now. Update: In my never-ending quest to fill out the image galleries for each game, I have added 60+ new screens for Resident Evil Code Veronica today. Go here to check em out. |
|
| New Resident Evil Online Trailers | |
| Posted on 1/15/2003 by Roody | |
Two new Resident Evil Online trailers to talk about. First there's the U.S. version, which looks great. You can view that here. Thanks to Rombie over at New-Blood for hooking me up with that.
Secondly, there is also a Japanese version of the trailer, which is a little different. Click here to view this version which is a direct feed from a japan website. It's encoded at 500 kbps, so it may be way out of your modem's league if you have a slower connection. I tried to obtain a copy for RE Fan so I could knock the bitrate down but had no luck. Anyways, thanks goes to Steve and Magedan Creid who both sent in that link. Also, Caption This! has been upgraded. Some new features you might wanna check out. Also added new pics. Go there now. |
|
| Multiple Updates | |
| Posted on 1/10/2003 by Roody | |
Couple new sections added to RE Fan. First of all, added a characters page to the Resident Evil Online section, which will provide you with some info on the playable characters in the upcoming release. Also added a novels section which showcases the Resident Evil works of S.D. Perry. Special thanks to Albus Dumbledore for help in setting that up.
Media guy Hellraiser sent in over 100 hi-res screen caps from Resident Evil 2 & 3. Those can be found in the Image Gallery. Last, but not least: new pics in Caption This!. Enjoy! |

| Back to Jill | |
| Posted on 1/7/2003 by Roody | |
Round one for all cast characters has officially come to a close. Now it starts to get interesting as we begin round 2. First up is Jill Valentine. Just a reminder to make sure to get over and vote by clicking on the banner below. We will go through all 4 rounds of each character in row 1 (Jill, Chris, Claire, Barry, and Rebecca) of the Ideal Cast page before moving to row 2, so make sure to keep checking back each day for the next few weeks to vote.
On a side note, more site additions are in progress as well. Hope to have something soon. |
|
| More Ø Additions | |
| Posted on 1/3/2003 by Roody | |
Just a couple minor Resident Evil Ø updates to report. First of all, I updated the opening video so that it now contains the full opening movie. You can check that out here. Also, the video where Billy meets Rebecca has been updated to a much better quality video, that can be seen here.
38 new screenshots from Zero have also been added. They are mostly shots of the two characters in the new costumes in action. Those begin here. While I was at it, some of those screenshots I took made their way into Caption This! so if you're a member, check that out as well. Enjoy! |

| Review and Codes | |
| Posted on 12/29/2002 by Roody | |
Ok, so I lied about this being my last update for 2002. I finally got around to writing a review on Resident Evil Zero. So if you want to know what my take on it was make sure to check it out. I also found time to gather up the Action Replay codes for Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil Remake for Gamecube. You'll of course need the Action Replay cheat device, and can find out more information about it on their homepage. Please don't write me with questions on it, because I won't be able to assist you.
With that, this is definitely my last update for 2002, so once again I wanna wish everyone a safe and happy new year! |
|
| Winter Spruce Up | |
| Posted on 12/27/2002 by Roody | |
| Decided it was time to update the look of the site a little bit. Hope you enjoy the new look. It's only the beginning of a bunch of new updates and additions to the site, which will take place over the next few weeks. I'm not going to say what is in store because I don't want to set expectations too high, but hopefully you'll be seeing a couple new sections, as well as additions to already existing sections. Stay tuned for more.
This is probably my last update for 2002, so I want to take this moment to wish everyone a safe and happy new year. See ya in 2003! |

| Ideal Cast Update | |
| Posted on 12/20/2002 by Roody | |
With the first rounds of all cast characters about to end, I thought I'd give an update as to how the second rounds will commence. After Sherry's first round matches finish on January 6th, we will go back to Jill again, and start with her second round. We will then go through Chris', Claire's, Barry's and Rebecca's 2nd rounds, each matchup taking one day apiece. Instead of continuing on down the board to Leon, we'll go back to Jill and finish each bracket in the first row up until we have a winner in each. Each round will be for one day each, with the exception of the final round in each bracket. Those will last for 2 days apiece.
More updates hopefully coming soon. |

| Forums Are Back | |
| Posted on 12/8/2002 by Roody | |
One month ago today the forums were closed. Today I am happy to announce they are back, and they are better than ever. You should find them a lot faster, and there are some new features that have been added.
Current members will need to re-activate their accounts to work with the new system. You will see this as you try to login for the first time, but should be pretty self-explanatory. Hope to see everyone back again and happy posting! |
|
| New Survey, New Captions (Finally) | |
| Posted on 12/7/2002 by Roody | |
The last survey seems to have worn out it's welcome. Most of you were right in your assumption that Leon would be the main character in Resident Evil 4. And it's also nice to see that the majority feels that Resident Evil 2 and 3 should be remade. Maybe Capcom will change their minds someday.
Anyways, when we retire one survey we start another. The new survey asks for your opinions on Resident Evil Zero. Rock the vote! Also, got caught up on the caption images that were sent in by fans. Check em out in Caption This!. Oh and one more thing, the forums are near completion. Stay tuned. |

| Bunch of Small Things | |
| Posted on 11/30/2002 by Roody | |
First, Kazuyuki Kita sent in a really nice looking Resident Evil Zero Wallpaper. Also on a Zero note, you can find 3 new walkthroughs/FAQs in the Resident Evil Zero Walkthroughs section. Sure to come in handy when playing through Zero this holiday season. Last, but not least a couple more Resident Evil 4 screens make their appearance here in the image gallery. Thanks goes out to Lindsey (Ada) for sending me those. |

| Spoilers, Spoilers Everywhere (Updated) | |
| Posted on 11/21/2002 by Roody | |
Are you still curious as to who the guy in the funny lookin' robe is in Resident Evil Zero? Well, here's a video that will explain it all to you. It contains spoilers so don't watch if you don't wanna know.
But wait! There's more! (I love saying that). Since that video takes me right near the end of the game, I figured why not spoil the whole thing for ya? Click to check out the ending to Resident Evil Zero. I don't need to mention the spoiler warning again do I? UPDATE: I briefly had the Resident Evil 4 preview video posted last week but had to take it down. However, Capcom Japan has posted a much nicer copy of it and I have it here if you havent seen it yet. Click here to check it out. |

| Saving Rebecca Plus Billy's Story | |
| Posted on 11/17/2002 by Roody | |
I decided to get the video capture device going again. I made a video of the part in Zero where Rebecca falls through the floor and Billy is forced to find and rescue her. When I first played it I had a bit of trouble because I was going to the wrong area to try and save her. Anyways, here is a video that will guide you through exactly where to go to complete that mini mission. The video is about 10 minutes long, and also contains footage of Billy's story on why he was arrested as well as more footage of Birkin and Wesker. So don't watch it if you don't like spoilers.
Also, Rob sent in this Resident Evil Zero Weapons FAQ that might prove to be useful. It'll be here in updates until I can find the time to make it a permanent fixture in the Zero section. Walkthrough for Zero should be here soon. Enjoy! |

| First Look at RE 4! | |
| Posted on 11/14/2002 by Roody | |
Finally Capcom has released genuine news about the highly anticipated Resident Evil 4 game. As many of you predicted in our survey, Leon Kennedy is indeed going to be the main character. This part of the story will take him directly into the core of Umbrella's operations. Screens can be found here.
Special thanks goes out to RE Fan staffers Mad_C and Tomo, as well as RE Fan affiliate DaMa over at RE Horror for waking me up this morning with that news :) |

| Zero Opening Video | |
| Posted on 11/8/2002 by Roody | |
IGN put up a new video of the Resident Evil Zero opening movie. View it by clicking here. This one shows Bravo Team en route to Raccoon Forest via helicopter. With each new video that comes out the anticipation grows for that November 12th release date.
Stay tuned for more videos. |

| 20+ Resident Evil Online Screens | |
| Posted on 11/5/2002 by Roody | |
Gamespot put up new screens of Resident Evil Online. We have them here in the image gallery. Also, in their story came this bit of news about the game:
"Cooperation is a big part of the online game's design. As illustrated by some of the new screenshots, player characters can interact by exchanging weapons, by helping a player get up, or by providing a steady shoulder for a wounded character to lean on. However, players can't always rely on the security of a group and may start a scenario separated from each other. There are also nonplayer characters in the game that players can talk to for information, including those characters that weren't selected by players." Thanks goes out to Keith for tipping me off to that. For the full Gamespot story, go here. |
|
| Minor Zero Update | |
| Posted on 11/3/2002 by Roody | |
Of course I'm a little late on this (as pointed out by several emails from fans of the site), but I finally got the new character pics from Resident Evil Zero up. The latest shows many of the members of Bravo Team. Check em out here
By the way, I know there's been several dates tossed around, but Rammy over at Biohazard Extreme tells me that November 12th is indeed the official release date for Zero in the U.S. That means in the next couple of weeks I should have new Zero videos available. Stay tuned! |
|
| Slow, Like That Molasses Stuff (Updated) | |
| Posted on 10/31/2002 by Roody | |
As we await the release of Resident Evil Zero it seems that any news of late is rather scarce. Except for one tidbit. RE Fan Affiliate The Horror Is Alive reports that the new unknown character in RE zero indeed does have a name. His name is Seinen and there arent any details out yet as to what his involvement in the game is. Guess we'll have to stay tuned.
Update: It appears that the new character's name is not "Seinen". Apparently it is Japanese for "Boy" or "Young Man". Thanks to tenthousandlies@juno.com for the heads up. Also, put up a few new Caption This! pics from pics that were sent in by site visitors. Check em out and have fun. |
|
| More Zero Screens | |
| Posted on 10/22/2002 by Roody | |
I know I'm a bit late on this, but you'll have to excuse me. Capcom posted some more Zero screens recently. The latest show some of the stages that the characters will encounter in the game. Check em out in the image gallery.
Just a couple more weeks until the release of Zero. Make sure you've pre-ordered your copy! |
|
| New RE Online Screens | |
| Posted on 10/15/2002 by Roody | |
New RE Online screens can be found in the image gallery today. I have to give thanks to DaMa over at RE Horror for pointing these out. The screens come from the http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk website. Included are screen shots of all the choosable characters. Check em out.
Also, new Caption This! pics today. Go here to check em out. Hopefully it'll be enough to keep ya busy for a bit :) |

| Gentlemen Prefer Blondes | |
| Posted on 10/9/2002 by Roody | |
New cast brackets for Alexia and Billy are now complete. Click the links to view them. You will notice on the Ideal Cast page there are 4 other new characters added. If you have suggestions for those characters, email them to me.
Also, Hellraiser found out that Wildstorm Comics has translated the Hong Kong versions of the Biohazard comics to english. You can check out some of the artwork in the image gallery here. |

| Resident Evil: Flash Edition | |
| Posted on 10/2/2002 by Roody | |
Joseph Blanchette a.k.a. "Legendary Frog" came up with a very funny rendition of the original Resident Evil opening sequence. He calls it "Resident Evil: Flash Edition" and it is very well done and very funny as well. A must-see for all RE Fans. You can check it out here.
Thanks to Joseph for allowing me to share his work. Thanks to Leon for finding this, and I mustn't forget NewGrounds.com as the source website. Make sure to go there and let em know what you think of the video. |
|
| New Plethora of Zero Videos | |
| Posted on 9/30/2002 by Roody | |
OK, here are those videos I promised from last week that were on New Blood. I've been given the green light to go ahead and place them here. Anyways, without further ado:
Cut Scenes 1 | Cut Scenes 2 Also, this was sent in by drazuw2@hotmail.com. It's a picture he took from somewhere in Florida. Does Umbrella really exist? Hehehe we'll never know for sure. :) |
|
| Ada and Carlos Brackets | |
| Posted on 9/26/2002 by Roody | |
The brackets for Ada and Carlos have been finalized. We managed 16 actresses for Ada, but only 8 for Carlos. Ada's bracket can be found here and Carlos' bracket can be found here.
We are almost down to Jill's elite eight. Once we hit that we are gonna move to Chris's first round for a change of pace. Voting for each first round matchup will be for one day only. |

| New Zero Trailers @ New Blood | |
| Posted on 9/24/2002 by Roody | |
Resident Evil Fan affiliate site New Blood got their hands on the new Resident Evil Zero trailers. There's some awesome stuff, including footage of Wesker and Birkin, as well as more footage of the "mysterious man". Well worth a look.
Check em out here. |

| Leon Bracket Finished | |
| Posted on 9/21/2002 by Roody | |
After pouring through all the great input that everyone sent in for Leon potentials, we now have a full Leon bracket. I think it turned out very well.
Update: Thanks everyone for input on Wesker's bracket. You can view the completed Wesker Bracket here. Also, very important. I have decided to make a change to the future bracket voting timeframes. Jill's bracket will continue with the normal 2 days per matchup voting since we started that way. But starting with Chris's bracket and every one thereafter, the first round matchups will only be for one day each. Then round two through four will be 2 days for each matchup. This should shorten the time of the first round matchups, which in many cases seem to be blowouts. |
|
| Barry Bracket Finished (Updated) | |
| Posted on 9/18/2002 by Roody | |
Thanks to everyone who sent in suggestions for Barry we now have a full bracket to choose from. You can check out Barry's finished bracket here. I think we ended up with some decent choices.
Update: I want to thank everyone for their very quick and rather large response to my request for Rebecca potentials. We currently have enough candidates to create the Rebecca bracket. Thanks to everyone who sent in suggestions. I should have the bracket ready soon. |
|
| Minor Update | |
| Posted on 9/17/2002 by Roody | |
| Hey everyone. Not much new to report on the Resident Evil news so I decided to add some more images to the Caption This! area from images that were sent in to me. I know I've been a little lax on those as of late, but I hope this update makes up for it. Check it out here.
Keep the votes coming for the Ideal RE Cast Tournament. Also, we need help. If you have any actor suggestions for Barry, email them to me, preferably with a picture. I may not respond to all emails, so if you dont hear back from me dont take it personally. It doesnt mean I wont use your suggestions. Thanks :) |

| Ideal RE Cast Tournament (Updated) | |
| Posted on 9/12/2002 by Roody | |
Ever wish you could pick your own ideal cast for a Resident Evil movie? Well now you can, well sord of. Today marks the beginning of the Ideal Resident Evil Cast Tournament. We begin with the tourney to decide the ideal casting for Jill Valentine.
It goes like this: Each character will have their own 16-man (or woman) bracket. Two actors or actresses will face off against one another and you'll have two days to vote for each matchup. The winner moves on to the next round until we have an overall winner. Since we are starting with Jill, you can view her bracket here. You can then cast your vote and view any results by going to the ideal cast page. Once we finish with Jill, we'll move on to another RE character, until we finish them all. Have fun, and make sure to check back every day or two to vote on each matchup. |

| New Resident Evil Zero Trailer | |
| Posted on 9/9/2002 by Roody | |
Big thanks goes out to DaMa over at Resident Evil Horror for hooking me up with this one. There's a New Zero trailer out and it looks awesome! I have to say, after seeing this trailer I finally am getting excited about the release of Zero. It shows some footage of the mysterious guy, and my guess is he's not one of the good guys. Make sure to check it out |

Following it's Japan counterparts, Capcom has launched the Official Resident Evil Website in english yesterday. It contains a great Resident Evil timeline and many other interesting Resident Evil facts. Make sure to drop by and check it out. Thanks to Jai Patel (see news story below) for sending me the tip that led to the official discovery of this site.
Also, Dark Horizons has a review on the Resident Evil DVD. Check it out here. Thanks goes out to Brian H. for sending that one to me. |

Check out our new Resident Evil Online section. Though there isnt a lot of information at this time, there will be more added as it is made available by Capcom. Stay tuned. |

| Minor Issues | |

Things have been kinda slow in the Resident Evil world the past few days. With Zero due out November 6th, that leaves us a little more than a couple months to go. The talk about the new character in Zero has sparked some great debate. Capcom Japan does say on their site that this new character is indeed a character that has not appeared in any of the other games in the series. That much we do know for sure. That bit of knowledge dispells certain theories about his identity.
Also, if you post in Caption This!, you should take a look at this. That's all for now. |

| Vote For Jill | |
| Posted on 8/23/2002 by Roody | |
Jill is going up against Link from Legend of Zelda over at GameFAQs.com in the battle for the greatest video game character contest. I think as loyal Resident Evil fans, we need to get over there and cast our vote. Currently she's behind, and is gonna need some help. I know that I'm gonna catch flack from Zelda fans for saying this, but I gotta say that I cant believe she's losing to a little elfen man in green tights. :)
Are you a real Resident Evil Fan?! Then get over there and show your support by voting! |

| More Zero For You | |
| Posted on 8/20/2002 by Roody | |
Posted some new Zero screens in the image gallery today. Also in there are some new screens from the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 ports. They really dont look much different than their originals. It's rather sad they decided not to remake them. I can only imagine the possibilities.
Also worth noting is a music video that was sent in by Thomas Peechatt a couple days ago. Click here to check it out. |

| Who The?? | |
| Posted on 8/13/2002 by Roody | |
Capcom Japan finally made it official by posting this strange character on the Biohazard Zero website. They dont say what his name is, or what role he plays in the game as of yet, so please don't write me and ask because I don't know.
I had seen pictures of this guy floating around the internet, but wasnt willing to believe he was a true addition to Resident Evil Zero game until I saw confirmation from Capcom. I had a hard time believing it mainly because he looks like he belongs in Final Fantasy, not in Resident Evil (IMHO). Anyways, feel like voicing your thoughts about it? Talk about it in the forums. Speaking of voicing your thoughts, got a new survey as well. |

| Site-Wide Updates | |
| Posted on 8/10/2002 by Roody | |
A bunch of minor site updates to talk about today. First and foremost the Resident Evil Zero section has finally made it's debut. Not a lot of information is included just yet, but we do have some new Zero Screens to tide you over for now.
Next, another addition to the game areas, a section for game review has been added to the Resident Evil Remake area. This review was written by Mad_C and details why you should go out and buy the remake if you havent already. Why are we better game reviewers than any other gaming site you ask? Because our love for Resident Evil makes our opinion not only biased, but more educated as well. :) Reviews for all the Resident Evil games are planned for the near future so stay tuned. Keeping with the music video craze, we just recently got this musical tribute to Albert Wesker called "Wesker's Pay Time". It's done by Arif Dornick. Check it out. Last but not least, new Caption This! pics added. Enjoy! |

| Steve's Weakness | |
| Posted on 8/2/2002 by Roody | |
The popularity of these Resident Evil music videos is astounding. Just received another from Hellraiser over at ShenmueDojo. This one appropriately titled "Kryptonite" for it's depiction of Steve's weakness: his love and affection for Claire.
UPDATE: But wait!!! There's more!! |

Update 7/29: Just received another music video from Julian Weiss (they seem to be popular these days). It's done to the tune of "Another One Bites The Dust". Click the links below to check it out:
Michael Peechatt over at Game Galaxy sent in this musical tribute to Resident Evil. It's done to the tune of Metallica's "Enter Sandman". Be sure to check it out. Also, the Resident Evil Movie DVD is due out soon. Make sure to stay tuned to the movie section here for more upcoming clips. |

| Better Late Than Never... | |
| Posted on 7/16/2002 by Roody | |
Well, only about three months after the movie has come and gone, I finally made it around to getting a Resident Evil Movie section up. This is just the beginning for this section, and I plan on growing it, so keep checking back there for updates.
Mad_C also wrote us another editorial today. This one is called "The Greatest Foes Are Those Without A Name". Check it out. |

| Little Something To Tide You Over | |
| Posted on 7/8/2002 by Roody | |
Resident Evil news is very slow as of late. Just wanted to drop a note here to let everyone know that we are working on some new things for Resident Evil Fan. Hopefully you'll start seeing some of those new things in the coming weeks so stay tuned.
To tide you over until then, check out Mad_C's editorial called "Rantings of a Pissed-Off Gamer". It's in the editorials section in case you forgot. :) Also, David Salaiz sent in this link to a 3-D animated horror movie called "Gone Bad". It's got zombies and lots of violence, a must for any Resident Evil fan. Check it out here. Thanks Dave! |

| Resident Evil Vs. Eternal Darkness | |
| Posted on 6/28/2002 by Roody | |
With the lull of silence as we wait for the next Resident Evil game to arrive, some of the video game talk amongst RE fans has turned to another game called Eternal Darkness. Since it's a topic of interest, our one and only Tomo sat down with Mad C, self-professed gamer and Eternal Darkness player, for his opinions on how Resident Evil measures up. Check it out in the editorials section.
Update: Also, wanted to take another chance to plug our Resident Evil Fan chat channel on IRC. Get yourself an IRC chat client and head to the Dalnet servers. Once there, look for the #ResidentEvilFan chat channel and you're in. |

If you dont want to use mIRC, you can also logon using Trillian (www.trillian.cc). Thanks goes out to ^Vam[]Dyre^ and ResFan_15 for setting that up. |

| Minor Updates On Zero | |
| Posted on 6/17/2002 by Roody | |
Not much that is newsworthy going on in the Resident Evil world at the moment. Though Capcom Japan did post up some new screens of Resident Evil Zero. You can find larger versions of the ones they have here in the Image Gallery. 41 new images in all. Enjoy. |

| Tofu: The Other White Meat | |
| Posted on 6/10/2002 by Roody | |
Mike Morrow (Resident Evil 1 fastest time champ) sent in his video of a speed walkthrough of Tofu's game. The first video I have of the walkthrough for Tofu's game is about 19 minutes long. This one is about 6 and a half minutes long. It's quite amazing how many times he defies the laws of physics and escapes what should be a big dinner for the hordes of zombies.
Make sure to check it out |

| Just a Girl, a Girl Who Sees Dead People | |
| Posted on 6/6/2002 by Roody | |
Crazyman Bob has sent in this awesome music video tribute to our favorite Resident Evil ladies. The video is very well done, and someday I'm gonna have to pick his brain on how he does this great work. But anyways, the video is accompanied by the song "Just a Girl" by No Doubt, and is worth a look. Good stuff.
Also, new editorial today. The first of hopefully many by Tomo. Check it out. |

| Fastest Time Video Highlights | |

Also, he has included a transcript which describes each of the segments in the video. Check it out! | |

| Got Grenades? | |
| Posted on 5/13/2002 by Roody | |
Here by popular demand is a video showing how to do the infamous grenade launcher cheat in the remake. Click here to check it out. It's rather simple as far as cheats go, but if you're looking for a quick and dirty way to get some serious firepower this may be for you. If you're a true gamer and don't think cheating is the way to go, then don't watch the video.
If you are having trouble following the video, here are written instructions for this trick. Good luck, and happy cheating! |

| They Killed Kenny!! | |
| Posted on 5/7/2002 by Roody | |
By request, here is the scene from the remake where Jill views the video cassette that she finds on Kenneth at the beginning of the game. It shows Kenny's last moments, and contains bad voice acting. What's humorous is it's hard to tell if the bad voice acting was intentional or not.
Also, I decided since I had the Gamecube all hooked up to the computer that I'd make a video of Jill's good ending in the remake. It's the one where Barry and Chris also survive. It's not easy playing on a little 320 x 240 screen, as evidenced in the video. If anything it's worth a good laugh to see how much I get smacked around. |

| Yet Another Survey | |
| Posted on 5/5/2002 by Roody | |
| Since the Resident Evil movie has pretty much come and gone, I figured it was time to end the survey on it. You can view final results here. The latest survey asks for your opinion on the Resident Evil Remake for the Gamecube. It also poses the question: Should the rest of the Resident Evil series be "remade" as this was? Hopefully many fans will speak their voice and certain people from Capcom will stop by and view the survey results. *hint hint, nudge nudge* :)
Also, posted some more fun pics in the Caption This! section. Check em out. |

| No Fuss, No Mess Lisa Trevor Disposal | |
| Posted on 5/3/2002 by Roody | |
| It's been a while since I've made any homemade videos from Resident Evil games. But I figured it was time to get back into it. Anyways my return to video-making starts with this little video on how to beat Lisa Trevor without wasting one round of ammo. The first time I took her on I emptied many many rounds into her, and yet she still didnt die. Would have saved me some time had I known this trick before-hand.
It's rather simple to do, and this video will show just how easy it can be (I feel like I'm in an info-mercial). Anyways, if you do not want it spoiled, then dont watch the video. But if you're looking for a way to get by this bullet-eater with little trouble, you might wanna check it out. |

| The Nemesis of Resident Evil 1 | |
| Posted on 5/1/2002 by Roody | |
Well, you've all heard about her in Wesker's Report 2. The woman who was the subject of the various tests in the Arklay Mansion. Lisa Trevor, daughter of George Trevor makes her appearance in the remake. You encounter her several times in the game, and she is not easy to take down. Thus the comparison to Nemmy.
My first encounter with her in the remake wasnt too bad, probably because as soon as saw her I took off like a bat out of hell, which is what I suggest you do if you end up playing it :). Anyways, check out the video here. |

Special thanks to Brian Johnson for sending that over. |

| Posted on 4/24/2002 by Roody | |
| New to Resident Evil Fan is a section called Caption This!. It's an area where Resident Evil pictures are posted, and you can post funny captions for each of the pictures. Then other members can rate your captions and a running score is kept.
Only registered forums members can post captions and vote on others, but everyone can view the captions. If you're not a registered forums member, be sure to sign up. On another forums note, some data was lost from the database recently. Some of the newer forums members' accounts have been lost. I apologize for the inconvenience, but anyone who signed up recently may have to sign up again. For more details see the Administrator's Forum. |

| Survey Says... | |
| Posted on 4/14/2002 by Roody | |
| The final results of the latest survey have been tabulated. It seems that most people are pretty upset that the Resident Evil Remake is going to be exclusive to Gamecube. I was upset about it at first as well, but I eventually caved in and bought a Gamecube. Final results from survey 2 can be found here.
Of course when we end a survey, we always begin a new one. The new survey asks for your opinions on the Resident Evil Movie. Sound off here. |

| Move To M$ Windows Media Complete | |
| Posted on 4/9/2002 by Roody | |
| After many hours of eye-glazing and headache-filled conversions, the multimedia on Resident Evil Fan is now officially all Windows Advanced Streaming Format. You will need the Windows Media Player Plugin to view the multimedia from this point on.
Resident Evil Fan is in need of a faster, dedicated media server to handle the extreme amounts of bandwidth the site chews through each month. The current media server seems to be doing alright, but we don't know if that will stay the case forever. We are currently accepting donations towards a new, more powerful media server. If you would like to help us out, you can donate by using the link on the side left nav below, or by clicking here. My host, K's Web Services is handling the collection, and 100% of the donations go toward a dedicated media server for RE Fan. No donation is too small. Before I conclude, I would like to assure everyone that this site is always going to stay 100% free, and that we are only collecting donations to improve the service that is provided. |
|
| RE Fan Begins Move to Windows Media | |
| Posted on 4/5/2002 by Roody | |
Just wanted to let everyone know that over the course of the next few days, Resident Evil Fan will become an "all Windows Media" website. Files have already begun to be converted, and you will notice one-by-one that they will all become Windows Streaming Media.
Windows Media seems to stream much better and the file sizes are very comparable to Real Media's sizes. Many of you asked for Windows Media, and soon it will become a permanent fixture here. Also, shortly we will be accepting donations for a brand new media server. If you like the media on this site, and want to see it grow even more, then this may be for you. No donation is too small, and 100% of the proceeds go towards a bigger, faster media server. More information to come in the next couple of days. |

| Build A Tougher Zombie... | |
| Posted on 3/30/2002 by Roody | |
Multiple minor updates to talk about today. First, new remake movies have been added. First video shows the scene from the remake where Wesker unveils the Tyrant and gets a friendly hello from it. Second Video shows just how tough the zombies can be in the remake, especially if you dont "completely" kill them.
Next, I would like to thank HellRaiser from Resident Evil Underground for graciously donating many new images of Resident Evil comic art. They can be found in the image gallery. Finally, this is rather amusing. Dont ask me where I found it, I dont remember. The next Calvin Klein underwear models? Don't think so. :) |

Part 5 of Wesker's Report 2 has been translated and posted. It reveals what happened to the mystery woman, as well as a few other things. Thanks to Leon for his help with the translation.
Also, thanks to "team/fun" from the forums for pointing out some great Resident Evil comic art for me. It got me started on finding some great stuff. Make sure to check it out in the gallery when you have a sec. |

Credit for these two spoiler videos goes to Ah King over at Resident Evil Forever. They show two different versions of Jill's ending from the remake. Do not watch them if you plan on purchasing the remake and don't want the ending spoiled. Both videos are around 4 MB a piece, so they make take some time to play on your computer.

| Posted on 3/20/2002 by Roody | |
Special thanks goes out to Leon for tipping me off to this. The Resident Evil Remake Intro is here and available for viewing. There's no bad voice acting in this one folks.
• The "Is it Wesker or a Zombie" debate It seems there is much debate in the forums as to whether or not the person that walks by in the hospital where Alice wakes up in the movie is Wesker or not - well here's the clip to the movie. Decide for yourself and discuss it here. |

| More Wesker, and Wesker's Report | |
| Posted on 3/15/2002 by Roody | |
New video of Wesker in the remake is available. This one shows where Wesker attempts to plant suspicion about Barry in Jill's mind. Also, new screens of this scene are in the gallery.
Parts 1 and 2 of Wesker's Report II have been translated to english and added the the Remake section. As I'm sure you are all aware, the Resident Evil Movie opens tonight. I think it's worth a look. Go check it out, and then discuss it in the forums. |

| Har har, I love that line. Anyways, the latest video of Barry from the remake is out. This one is the famous scene where Barry rushes in at the last second to save Jill from becoming a "Jill Sandwich".
Also, I am currently working on a hefty site overhaul. Dont have a final release date just yet, though I am anticipating at least another week or two. Stay tuned! |

| The new image gallery is now up. For all of you who asked for it, check it out! (even if you didn't ask for it, you can still check it out). Images are split up into categories, and the gallery will always continue to grow. If you have an image you'd like to contribute, please do so by emailing them to me. Whether it's fanart, or a buddy icon for AOL IM, or something cool you found: if it's Resident Evil related, it should be in the gallery.
New images will be added all the time. |

| New Remake Cut Scene Videos | |
| Posted on 12/28/2001 by Roody | |
| Fresh off the Capcom Japan Site are some new videos showing some great cut scenes from the upcoming Resident Evil 1 remake for the Gamecube.
Video 1 shows the scene where Chris, Jill, and Wesker enter the mansion. (Sorry, no sign of Barry just yet). Video 2 and Video 3 show multiple cut scenes depicting Chris Redfield battling various enemies. Video 4 shows various locations from around the mansion. I would suggest checking them all out. This is just a peek at the great things to come. I thought the first game was scary, but the remake is gonna blow your socks off! |

| Quick Update | |
| Posted on 5/15/2001 by Roody | |
| Not a whole lot of new Resident Evil news to report. Favorite female and male character races remain very close, with Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield only holding small leads. Way too close to call. Added some new multimedia, more to come shortly. If you have a chance, check out Resident Evil Sitez and vote for Resident Evil Fan. I'd appreciate any votes. Also, if you havent already, be sure to register for Resident Evil Forums. | |

| New Survey Questions Added | |
| Posted on 3/24/2001 by Roody | |
| Overall favorite character and least favorite character opinions added to the survey. Survey IP logs have been cleared so everyone can vote again. Also, I've noticed the favorite male character race remains tight, with Chris Redfield holding a very slight lead on Leon Kennedy. Albert Wesker has dropped back a bit. Keep the votes coming! | |
| New Multimedia Ranking System | |
| Posted on 3/11/2001 by Roody | |
| I have implemented a new ranking system for all of the multimedia contained on this site. When viewing, you will be able to rank on a scale of 1 to 5 how much you liked a particular clip. When the number of votes reaches a more acceptable number, I will put up a "top 5" rankings to show which clips are the most popular. | |
